On this cold day in these turbulent political times, we decided to give all our Roamlers a little pick-me-up by sharing some of the powerful and uplifting mottos that Roamlers live by.
For those in need of a smile:
“If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours.”
Dominic C. explains this motto as follows: “Everyone deserves to be happy, and everyone can help them with this!” He applies it in his life by “smiling at others as much as possible (without looking like a total crazy!)”
For those in need of bit of motivation, Paige B. writes:
“Never half-ass two things, whole-ass one thing“
For Paige this means: “Don’t half heartedly put effort into two separate things when you can put all of your effort into one thing for a greater result.”
For those who feel that life is a bit dull today:
“If it’s not fun, then what’s the point!?”
She explains this motto as follows: “Time is precious and so valuable – especially in such a vibrant city where there is just so much to do and so many amazing people to see! So, if you try something and it’s not so fun – well, go do something else…” And she applies it in her life by “If I’m somewhere and I’m really not having fun then there’s places I’d rather be…I also love what I do in my work, I sell accessories which I hand make (which is very fun!)” Check out Lynsey’s work here.
For those who are experiencing a difficult time:
“Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain.”
For Anahita M. (only one of the many Roamlers who shared this motto) this means: “Make the most of what you have because life is about experiences.” In her life she lives according to this motto by doing the following: “I always look on the bright side and know that things will get better when they are bad.”
For those who dream (and know that others do too):
“Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.”
Sinead M. explains: “Be nice to those around you and demand the respect for them to be nice to you. And have dreams and aspirations.” She applies this in her life by “learning new things that I’ve always wanted to do, such as paddling a canoe on my own. And supporting others in their dreams.”
For all of us, everyday, who encounter strangers:
“There’s no such thing as a stranger, they’re just friends you haven’t met yet.”
For Joanna H. this motto requires of us “To be open and friendly with new people. Accept people. Everyone is someone you could potentially get along with.” She lives this motto as follows: “When I go out I always speak to people I don’t know and try to involve others so as not to leave anyone out.”
And finally, when all else fails:
“Chocolate doesn’t ask questions, chocolate understands.”
Tim W. writes: “I like this motto because chocolate is one of my favourite guilty pleasures and always helps when I’m stressed about anything at that point in time. I don’t have to worry about being judged by chocolate because it knows just what I need…My daily fix of cocoa!!” He explains further: “Whenever I feel as though I’m not in the mood to do anything productive or I feel as though I’m not performing to the standard that I should be, I will have some type of chocolate to take the edge off things and also to give me that extra shot of energy that is needed to get through the day!”
Thanks for these wise words everyone!
Here at Roamler we wish you a very happy, calm, productive and love-filled day!
