Our top 10 Roamler memes!

We recently had a task where we asked Roamlers to create their own memes based on their experiences with Roamler. For those who are not familiar with the term, a meme is generally a captioned image which is created to express a typical feeling, situation, or person. A popular example is ‘LOLcats’ or ‘The Success Kid’ (which many of you used here!). We got a lot of funny and creative submissions which we want to share. So without further ado, here are our top 10 Roamler memes!

The Beer checks: The best way to bar-hop

For the past few months. Roamlers have been doing tasks in bars across the United Kingdom. They have been checking Stella Artois, Corona, Bud Light, and Budweiser (currently with a £10 reward!). These checks return every month to the same bars and are therefore well worth getting to know. The best part of the checks is that they are simple to do, and that they unlock a beer bonus task with extra financial rewards of up to £20 or more! The Slug and Lettuce Corona check is also a great one for the beer lovers; who wouldn’t love getting paid to order a free Corona?

How easy are the beer checks?

For the beer checks (excluding the Slug and Lettuce task), we are looking for the availability of certain beers, promotional material on the bar and tables, and the availability of the specified beer on draught (5 yes/no questions). We also ask you to ask the bar tender for a beer recommendation. Below you can see the photo steps of the beer checks. These photos were taken by a Roamler in  Rotherham for the Stella Artois check.

Mystery shopping?

Although we encourage you to try the beer checks as a mystery shopper, we know that it is very often impossible. That is why we have included an explanation letter and a short suggestion of how you can introduce yourself to the bar tender. if you cannot perform the task at the location for whatever reason, that’s no problem! You will still be paid £4 for your efforts.

Strange/Impossible locations?

For the beer checks, there can also be some strange locations in your list. If you would like to perform a beer check, but are not sure about the location, send a message to the team! It is important for us and the client to know if locations are a bit unusual, so we will provide you with some advice and make sure we come to a solution in which you receive the money you deserve.

Customized maps

For the beer checks, the team is willing to go above and beyond. That’s why we will assist you in every way possible, including the creation of a beer checks map, customized to your daily route and/or a route you are planning to take (if you are traveling across the country, for example). Want to know more? Send a message to the team in the app now!

Game of Thrones – Fan Favourites and Photos!

Before Season 7 of Game of Thrones began, we wanted to celebrate with some GOT-related tasks! We were curious about who Roamlers’ favourite characters are. Don’t worry; this blog post does not contain any spoilers!

Out on top as fan favourites came Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow. Roamler Equipa F is a big Jon Snow fan, and says this about the Lord Commander:

“Jon Snow – he’s loyal to his friends and family, he fights for what he believes in, and he has a great personality!’

Roamler Equipo F even has a cup to match!

Another fan is Roamler is Lynne W, who reasons:

“Jon Snow (is my favourite), because he’s not your typical fiction hero. His loyalty and integrity to those around him, combined with his humanness, set him apart.”

Roamler Tracy C is a big fan of Khaleesi, and explains why:

“My favourite character is Daenerys Targaryen. She is a strong female who does not let anything or anyone get in her way. Daenerys is the mother of dragons and seeing these powerful, mythical creatures come to life through her is amazing!”

Roamler Tracy C added this fitting photo of a dragon and a (dire) wolf.

Roamler Marie H is also a fan, and explains it pretty simply:

“Daenerys Targaryen is my favourite – she is a badass!

We agree; she is pretty badass!

We also had five ‘prop’ tasks to celebrate the new season, in which Roamler had to collect and photograph 5 Game of Thrones props: Dragon eggs, Melisandre’s necklace, the Mountain’s sword, the King’s hand pin, and the Iron Throne itself. You got really creative with it!

Roamler Louise J made her own Iron Throne with the help of some cardboard and a child’s chair. Nice work!

“Jon Snow’s direwolf awaits him at the Iron Throne”, writes Roamler Simon F about his masterpiece.

Many Roamlers used Lego too create scenes from the show. Here is a submission from Roamler Sam R, who captions the photo pretty simply as “Scary man with sword!”

Roamler Volkan B submitted this creative photo of Khaleesi’s dragon and dragon eggs!

Thank you for all your wonderful submissions for these tasks. We had a lot of fun reviewing them! We hope you are enjoying the new season as much as we are. Winter is here!
